Florida’s Unique Brand of White Supremacy

Florida is synonymous with many things. Amusement parks, orange juice, terrible baseball teams, and beautiful beaches. Something that may not be so transparent though, is the abnormally large population of hate groups. Second only to California, it has the highest number of hate groups in the country. There are more than 60 active hate groups in Florida,  with every recognized hate group in existence having some sort of representation. Famously, the world’s most prominent holocaust denier, David Irving, lives in Key west.

While these 60 groups comprise thousands of individuals, love still prevails in the majority of the sunshine state. Trump’s abominable defense of white supremacy has only encouraged the actions of hate groups.  But as Heather Hyers mother has said, her daughter's death has magnified the position of tolerance over hate. We all have a duty to fight against these subhumans. Complacency is not an option. Here is a comprehensive guide to all of the active hate groups in Florida to watch out for.

For the sake of brevancy, the following are just some of Florida’s most vile hate groups.

Racist Skinhead

“Racist Skinheads form a particularly violent element of the white supremacist movement, and have often been referred to as the "shock troops" of the hoped-for revolution. The classic Skinhead look is a shaved head, black Doc Martens boots, jeans with suspenders and an array of typically racist tattoos.”

General Hate

“These groups espouse a variety of rather unique hateful doctrines and beliefs that are not easily categorized. This list includes a “Jewish” group that is rabidly anti-Arab, a “Christian” group that is anti-Catholic and a polygamous “Mormon” breakaway sect that is racist. Many of the groups are vendors that sell a miscellany of hate materials from several different sectors of the white supremacist movement.”
