Bristol's Frack Freeze - Getting Barclays to Divest from Fracking

As part of Breaking The Chain week of action, targeting the supply chain to Fracking companies, Frack Free Bristol organised a Freeze Flashmob outside Barclays in Bristol city centre.  A few local Greenpeace supporters took part and were also there a week later for a picnic outside the bank in Broadmead.  The aim was to highlight that Barclays own 97% of First Energy - a company that has permission to explore for shale gas in Ryedale, N. Yorkshire.  Many of Barclays customers were shocked to hear that their bank was involved in fracking and many signed letters to register their concern - some were seriously considering the possibility of moving their bank account.
