Thanks to Staxtonbury, near Scarborough for inviting us to their local Family Friendly Festival this weekend. Now in its 9th year, we were welcomed with their generous donation of tickets for our volunteers. With the help of these kind volunteers we were able to cover our stall all weekend to spread awareness of our local group and also launch the latest campaign telling BP to cancel their plans to drill for oil near the Amazon Reef. #SpongeBob was popular with children and as well as drawing the crowds to come and sign postcards, the expanse of yellow paint also attracted those little black flying bugs, with an affinity to yellow! We'd rather have flying bugs than no Amazon Reef, and all it represents! Thanks everyone for your help and please stay in touch by signing up to GREENWIRE AT : - Greenpeace.greenwire.org where you sign up to your local group to find out whats going on locally.
