Climate March ..Reading

Around 300 people marched all round Reading in the cold on Saturday , in Reading's own Climate March. Greenpeace joined environment, employment & faith groups in the march. The Reading Mayor & Green Councillors & Tony Page were all seen on the march. Seen through the tiny window in my polar bear disguise.  Around the world people are protesting in hundreds of cities to encourage the world leaders to come to a Climate Agreement in Paris next week. Even as we march we can see that if progress is made in Paris, Great Britain will not be leading the way.  Yes last week Amber Rudd announced an end to UK Coal electricity by 2025. We welcome that announcement. But remember in 2006 there was all party agreement on "New Homes will be Zero Carbons Homes by 2016", which stood as government policy until this (2015) summer & has now been axed.    Enjoy the pictures of the March...
