The Canadian Government is planning to allow the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain expansion project to go ahead. This entails building a pipeline from Alberta to British Columbia, carrying new oil from the destructive and polluting tar sands in Alberta.
As well as the impact on climate change, the Kinder Morgan pipeline will also affect the land, water and livelihoods of indigenous peoples in the region as well as a rare species of orcas found off the Vancouver.
A major bank in the UK is also Europe's biggest investor in pipelines.
Looks like it's time to visit this bank and publicly embarrass them. This an unacceptable project to be involved in.
Meet outside the Beaney (library) at 10am on Saturday 30th June.
