Volunteers: please meet at 12pm outside Clapham North tube station this Saturday 31st (or join at some point between 12-3)
Greenpeace supporters: come find us outside Sainsbury's or Morrisons in Clapham North for a #JustTuna tour between 12.30pm - 3pm and find out the truth behind John West tuna!
In 2011 John West committed to sourcing 100% sustainable tuna by 2016. To date they're at a pathetic 2%. However, other suppliers have made fantastic improvements.
We'll be campaigning on the streets and spreading the message of how unsustainable John West's tuna is. We'll be encouraging the public to sign a pledge which will put pressure on John West to fish more sustainably, telling John West we want #JustTuna in our tins and no other bi-catch to suffer!
We'll also be conducting tours of the tuna aisle from 12.30pm until around 3pm, weather dependant.
This day is for everyone, please come along, especially if you've not attended a meeting or any of our other events. You don't have to know lots about Tuna we can brief you on the day!
We'll be bringing tshirts and materials, you don't need to bring anything but a warm coat is probably a good idea.
Here's a link to a the Tuna league table Greenpeace has made. There is also a video showing undercover footage from a fishing trauler *contains shocking imagery* https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/page/s/not-just-tuna
