Following on from the launch of our Rang-tan video in August, we stepped up our campaign by going after the Indonesian company Wilmar, the world’s largest palm oil trader. We’ve released a new report exposing Wilmar (and others) are still supplying the world’s biggest brands with palm oil grown on deforested land. You can read the report online at https://www.greenpeace.org/international/publication/18455/the-final-cou....

As part of the campaign we had street artists in cities across the globe produce murals to draw attention to the destruction of rainforests. Take a look at some of them at https://www.greenpeace.org.uk/wings-paradise-drawing-attention-rainfores....

Finally Greenpeace activists from around the world (including the UK) carried out a direct action against on an Indonesian palm oil refinery. The action consisted of blocking a palm oil tanker, dropping banners and painting on the side of storage tanks and having the Indonesian band Boomarang perform on top of one of them: https://goo.gl/cZyXLy In November we will be targeting a specific brand and will share more information closer to the time but at the moment we would like you to pencil in taking part in a Global Day of Action on Saturday 17th November.

Right now, based on our knowledge of volunteers available and interested, we're planning this event for the Redhill area, but if you're keen to join in and live a long way elsewhere in Surrey, please do enroll and/or comment in case we want to move location or set up a second location. Thank you in advance for doing this asap! Timings may also be fine tuned to fit volunteers' availability.
