Get your sea legs on! The Arctic Sunrise has turned its bow south and in a few weeks will be going global with Greenpeace's campaign to create the largest protected area on Earth, an Antarctic Ocean Sanctuary in the Weddell Sea.
On Saturday 20th January, coinciding with Penguin Awareness Day, we'll have a Global Day of Action, to raise awareness and kickstart a global movement of people pushing for an Antarctic Ocean Sanctuary. We need YOU to help make this happen!
Right now we have an opportunity to make history. Next October, the Antarctic Ocean Commission (an international body which includes the UK Government), will meet to decide whether to create the largest protected area on Earth: an Antarctic Ocean Sanctuary 5 times the size of Germany.
On Saturday 20th January, Global Day of Action come and join us for a fun, penguin-themed event, our aim is to involve as many people as possible, draw some attention from the public and get some great photos and videos that we can use on social media. We’ll have a flash-mob, penguin masks, signs and banners, a seaside style face-through-photo-booth and shall be making lots of noise!. Our aim is to raise awaireness and get signatures on a petition pushing for the Antarctic Sanctuary.

If you are interested in attending contact for full details, I will send a utube movie showing dance moves for anyone who wants to get there Happy Feet on, we also need people to simply wear Penguin masks and hold a picket sign at the side of the dancers, or speak to the public to obtain signatures - If you are free on the 20th and fancy a giggle whilst helping to push for something extraodinary, then please let me know how you would like to get involved (DANCE/PICKET/CLIPBOARD).
