Greenpeace UK plans to launch a new campaign to reduce plastic pollution - much of which ends up in our rivers and oceans. The focus will be on plastic bottles.  It is astounding that British households fail to recycle a staggering 16m bottles per day.  According to research this almost half of the 36m bottles discarded on a daily basis. A national day of action has been scheduled for Saturday 22nd April.  We will be pitching our stall near the Cascade Steps/fountains off Broad Quay at 12 noon and engage the afternoon visitors until 4.00pm.  We will be asking people to write a message on a postcard addressed to the CEO of Coca-Cola EU asking the company to improve their policy on the production and recycling of the millions of single-use plastic bottles that they sell every day.  There is also an opportunity to get photos of people holding a photoboard with the slogan 'Don't Let Coke Choke Our Oceans'.
