The government believes that the need for additional capacity in the south-east of England is best met by a new north-west runway at Heathrow Airport.
The planning policy framework which the applicant for a north-west runway at Heathrow Airport would have to comply with in order to get development consent is set out in the draft Airports National Policy Statement. The government is seeking your views on the draft the Airports National Policy Statement.
The government is holding consultation information events. At the events you can speak to officials and ask about the draft Airports National Policy Statement. THIS REGIONAL EVENT IS BY INVITATION ONLY FOR STAKEHOLDERS: IF YOU WISH TO BE INVITED PHONE 0800 689 4968 OR EMAIL RunwayConsultation [dot] Admin [at] dft [dot] gsi [dot] gov [dot] uk .
You should read the draft Airports National Policy Statement before submitting your response to the consultation.
Please note also that local councils all oppose Heathrow expansion and are forming a new coalition to fight it. Also that an appeal for volunteers may go out - to disseminate anti-expansion information to people visiting these events. Please leave a comment in this group page if you would like to volunteer.
