POSTPONED due to the weather! We will be getting in touch shortly with an alternative date!
Join us for this year's Park(ing) day: lets reclaim urban public spaces together!
Bring your plastic-free lunch, grab a chair or game and help us turn parking spaces into public places.
We are still deciding on activities to do, in addition to a plastic-free picnic (maybe a a clothing swap? or sidewalk art?). Feel free to leave us suggestions.
We will be meeting outside Planet Coffee at 12 and together choosing our parking spaces. If you can't join at Planet Coffee, look for us in Byward Market, check this event or follow us on twitter to find out where we are: @GPOttawa
PARK(ing) Day is a annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places. The mission of PARK(ing) Day is to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat/
We recognize and acknowledge that this event is taking place on the unceded and unsurrendered traditional territory of the Algonquin peoples.
