Join a film screening and community town hall on the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain buyout.
In less than 2 weeks, the Trudeau government will decide whether or not to finalize the deal to buy out the Trans Mountain pipeline from Kinder Morgan with billions of public dollars.
It’s appalling that Trudeau's making this massive decision without consulting the public. That’s why starting next week, people across Canada are holding their own People’s Town Halls on the pipeline buy out. There’s a town hall in Ottawa.
We'll be screening Directly Affected: a Pipeline Under Pressure, and will be inviting MP's Catherine McKenna (Ottawa Centre), Mona Fortier (Ottawa - Vanier), David McGuinty (Ottawa South) and Greg Fergus (Hull-Aylmer) to answer questions from their constituents. If they don't show up, we will distributing postcards for attendees to write their questions and delivering these to each of the MPs.
The event will be held in the Auditorium of the Ottawa Public Library (120 Metcalfe).
Directly Affected: Pipeline Under Pressure, weaves together the stories of people impacted by the Trans Mountain Pipeline Project, the broken National Energy Board review process used to approve the pipeline, Canada’s commitments at the Paris Climate Talks and the innovators working towards the low-carbon economy.
