Greenpeace Toronto Local Group Meeting - Shutting Down Pickering

2018 April 03 - 6:30PM to 8:30PM EDT
Greenpeace Mob Hub Cecil Street 33 M5T 1N1 Toronto
Event Type:
Meeting - Planning, Organizing, or Evaluating
6 persons are going

As we all know that OPG wants to continue running Pickering nuclear plant beyond its design life. For the past few days we had begun our campaign to shut it down. And there is an opportunity for us to make this happen but we will need some help.

There are six aging reactors at the Pickering nuclear station 30 km from downtown Toronto – this is closer than any other nuclear station in the world to a major population centre. The risk of a nuclear accident increases as reactors age. Keeping Pickering running only increases risks to public safety.

So if you want to help us plan our next actions in the coming months, come to this meeting and meet other amazing volunteers who want to make a change.

We are excited to meet you all!!!!
