Burrard Dry Dock Pier
Art Performance or Exhibit
10 persons are going
I am excited to invite you to volunteer on board Greenpeace's ship, the Arctic Sunrise. Our icebreaker vessel will be in Vancouver this month as it follows the route of what could become a tar sands tanker superhighway if the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion is built. As it docks in Vancouver, our volunteers and supporters are invited to come aboard, walk through the ship and learn about the key role it plays in our campaigns. In addition to a full guided tour, our campaigners will be on board to talk about our ongoing pipelines, ocean plastics and forest campaigns.
>>> VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We need reliable people to take on essential roles to make for a smooth day of tours <<<
1] Gangway Watch #1 - Count open boat guests as they board with a counter. This person will stand at the top of the gangway on board the ship.
2] Gangway Watch #2 - Assist open boat guests boarding the ship and keep the flow moving. This person will stand at the bottom of the gangway.
3] Plastics Engagement - Engage the public about Ocean Plastics using the talking points (to be provided). Encourage people to sign up to download the Greenpeace Plastics Toolkit.
4] Kids Table: Engage guests waiting in line. Introduce yourself. Pass out tattoos, stickers and colouring pages. Talk to kids and keep them generally entertained/happy/interested/inspired while waiting for the tour.
5] Tour Guide - Provide and lead inspiring tours for the guests. Move the group from station to station as the main Greenpeace representative. Answer questions and inform guests of campaign issues.
6] Tear-Down - Help out with tear-down after the event. Fold banners, move tables, return materials to the storage area, sweep and clean-up. Take trash out etc.
7] Night-Watch - Overnight shift to monitor the boat for security and safety.
