On Wednesday, 17th Feb 2016, we made history by naming our first ever honorary member. We as the Greenpeace Durban local group facilitators awarded Frank Edwards, who we have dub 'Captain Franktastic' honorary membership, as our way of saying thank you and that we truly grateful for his help and support. Frank has been so supportive in whatever we do, be it a protest action, workshop, etc. His space is always open and is always willing to go out of his way for us. Plus is only to willing to share his wealth of knowledge & experience. We honor and recognise the commitment demonstrated by 'Captain Franktastic' towards the programs, activities, and values of the Greenpeace local group: Durban. Our local group values are reflected in all of Greenpeace environmental work, worldwide.   These are:   We 'bear witness' to environmental destruction in a peaceful, non-violent manner; We use non-violent confrontation to raise the level and quality of public debate; In exposing threats to the environment and finding solutions we have no permanent allies or adversaries; We ensure our financial independence from political or commercial interests; We seek solutions for, and promote open, informed debate about society's environmental choices.
