To commemorate the International Day of Peace, Zero Emissions Day & International Day of Struggle against Mono-culture Tree Plantations which was today 21st Septmeber 2017, and Heritage Day on September 24th, you are warmly invited to attend a 'Not-To-Be-Missed' screening of 'Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai', at Captain Franktastic's Permaculture Guerrila Garden this Sunday!

TAKING ROOT is a compelling documentary narrative about the 1st environmentalist and 1st African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. 

In 1977, Maathai suggested rural women plant trees to address problems stemming from a degraded environment. Under her leadership, their tree-planting grew into a nationwide movement to safeguard the environment, defend human rights and promote democracy, and brought Maathai the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004.
